Overview: We are all too familiar with the inundation of emails in our inboxes - which makes my job of creating emails that stand out a lot harder! Subject lines are the MVP.

In our ‘Welcome Series’ I started off with an immediate coupon auto-applied to their new account to push first order conversion. Following that, I put together quippy, fun, relatable emails that collectively told the Buncha story, how the service works, and what makes the model different than other delivery services. These emails also carried them through a series of promo codes that were eligible through their first three orders, as data showed that after three orders, the loyalty and order consistency of a customer was incredibly strong.

The ‘Churn Series’ emails were complimented by in-app push notifications, as well as occasional text messages in an effort to stay on the radar of customers that hadn’t placed an order in a certain period of time. Similar to the ‘Welcome Series’ emails, the messaging in the ‘Churn Series’ was meant to feel friendly, fun and lighthearted, while keeping that relatable feel between the customer and the brand. In certain stages of the series, customers were prompted with a coupon code to try to win them back onto the platform.
