Overview: With Hy-Vee being a new store to not only Brooklyn Park, but to the Twin Cities market as a whole, it was important to build relationships with the members of the community, increase awareness, and earn brand trust and loyalty. One way in which I achieved this was through putting on large in-store events for families with the intention to get people in the store, familiarize them with all Hy-Vee has to offer, and create an atmosphere that makes the parents (and kids) want to bring their business to the Brooklyn Park Hy-Vee. I had the sole responsibility of brainstorming, planning, budgeting, marketing, and executing each event.
Other event examples include: Springtime Party, Mother’s Day Flower Pot Painting, Monthly kid-themed dinners in the Market Grille (i.e. Minions, Monsters, etc.), Breakfast with Santa + his reindeer, SKOL Sundays in the Market Grille, and more!
‘Trick of Treat’ Halloween Event
I created mini maps that led to 10 different stations with activities ranging from pumpkin decorating, coloring sheets, cooking making, trail mix, “freaky fruits,” etc.
"My kids had fun while we were there. They were more excited seeing people wearing their awesome costumes.. Thanks for having this event.. My kids love all their treats..." - Lee M.
Superhero Scavenger Hunt
I had employees stationed in costumes throughout the store, a scavenger hunt with superhero themed items in different departments of the store, a make-your-own superhero mask station, and pin the spider on Spiderman.
