Overview: I collaborated closely with the Produce Manager to plan and execute a ‘Meet the Growers’ event in an effort to showcase local Minnesota brands available for purchase at the Brooklyn Park Hy-Vee. This event had a farmer’s market vibe with owners or representatives from each brand on-site to provide samples and information about their product and/or farming process to Hy-Vee customers. Given Hy-Vee’s extensive inventory of products, we saw this as an opportunity to boost awareness and sales for these small companies founded right in our backyard. While this was a great opportunity for the local brands, it was also an opportunity for us to attract members of the community to the store and get them to sample and become acquainted with products sold at Hy-Vee. Additionally, this allowed us to further our relationships with these suppliers, in an effort to maintain brand loyalty and trust.
